What you pay
Each charger’s page shows its price per kWh, so you pay for the energy that goes into your car. Some chargers have different rates at different times of day. The rate that applies right now is marked on the charger’s page.
If a session runs across more than one time period, each part is charged at the rate for that time. The rates are fixed when your session starts, so a price change partway through won’t affect you.
There’s a minimum charge of $1 for a paid session. If no energy was delivered, you’re not charged at all.
Adding a card
Add a card on your account page. Card details are handled and stored by Stripe, our payments partner, so ChargerMate never sees your full card number. If you’ve added more than one card, we use the most recent one. Make sure it hasn’t expired.
When you’re charged
Nothing is taken from your card when you start. We charge the final amount after your session ends, usually within an hour.
Receipts
We email you a receipt when a paid session ends. You can also find every receipt on your Sessions page, ready to print.
Your receipt lists a service fee. That’s ChargerMate’s share of the price and is already included in the total, not added on top.
Free charging
Some chargers are free for everyone; their page shows Free. You won’t need a card for those.
An operator can also give you free use of a paid charger by adding your email address. When they do, the charger’s page shows Free use granted while you’re logged in. Free use is matched to the email on your ChargerMate account, so make sure the operator has exactly that address.
Think you’ve been charged wrongly?
Email support@chargermate.com.au with the charger’s name and the date of the session. The order ID from your receipt helps us find it quickly. We’ll look into it, with the charger’s operator if needed.
